1966 - Toy Fair

Two edits of the same interlude, in which Daleks invade a toyshop in the middle of the night and are defeated by a giant doll. Scary stuff indeed.

3rd March 1966 - Blue Peter

Valerie Singleton makes some Dalek cakes.

Part appeared on the official DVD release of The Dalek Invasion of Earth and part in a documentary on Genesis of the Daleks.

20th June 1966 - Blue Peter

A War Machine appears in studio, and we see some clips of the story before it powers through some empty boxes.

"Well I certainly wouldn't like to come round the corner of a building and just walk into one of those! Dearie me no!"

This appeared on the VHS and DVD releases of The War Machines, and a clip as part of Thirty Years in the TARDIS.

27th June 1966 - Blue Peter

Class 4D of a school in Barnstaple built a Dalek and sent in some photos, and another homemade one enters the studio. Worthy of a thrilling report by Christopher Trace.

August 1966 - Dr Who and the Daleks Trail

A collection of clips from the first Peter Cushing film, with a rather cheesy voiceover, shown in cinemas across the country to promote the imminent release of the film.

4th November 1966 - The Power of the Daleks Trailer

1967 - Walls Sky Ray Lollies Advert

Some Daleks attack a Patrick Troughton lookalike in this advert for some ice lollies that were vaguely sci-fi themed. Appeared on Thirty Years in the TARDIS.

Blue Peter launches a Design a Monster competition in show# 569.

30 seconds of this would later appear, cropped, in the 17/06/06 edition of Doctor Who Confidential.

25th November 1967 - Late Night Line-Up

Excerpts from the of Late Night Line Up that focussed on BBC special effects, centring around an interview with BBC visual effects designer Jack Kline (in which he talks of the problems of juggling his teams different talents, Doctor Who being "a bit of a romp" and decisions on how far to push the fear on both children's and adult's shows) and featuring colour footage of the Cybermats. Also includes clips from The Power of the Daleks and The Abominable Snowmen that would later become the source of existing clips from missing episodes.

Appears on official DVD release of Tomb of the Cybermen.

27th January 1968 - The Web of Fear Trailer

A trailer for the fifth season story, aired immediately after the final part of Enemy of the World, with some specially shot footage of Troughton: "Oh it's you! I thought for one moment it was... Glad I've met you as a matter of fact, there's something I want to tell you... When we start out on our next adventure, Jamie and Victoria and I, we meet some old friends... and we also meet some old enemies, very old enemies... The Yeti as a matter of fact and this time they're just a little bit more frightening than last time so I want to warn you that... if your Mummy and Daddy get scared, you just get them to hold your hands!"

27th January 1968 - Whicker's World

A special entitled 'I Don't Like My Monsters To Have Oedipus Complexes' focussing on horror in the movies and on TV. Terry Nation shows us round his Dalek-filled home and offers his thoughts on how he came up with the Daleks, what makes them scary and the reaction of children.During the end credits, host Alan Whicker is chased by a Yeti. A clip appears from Power of the Daleks - this is now the best quality source for that particular sequence.
