It is the late 21st century and mankind is totally dependent on T-Mat, a revolutionary form of instant travel. The first Patrick Troughton story to be released on VHS (and in fact, just the fourth story at all - following three Tom Baker releases), the DVD issuing saw its premier appearance in episodic format - also appealing to fans was the promise of the inclusion of several new clips from missing episodes, that had been discovered in the years following the Missing Years video release...

Sssowing The Ssseedsss (28'42")
A brand new documentary interviewing Alan Bennion (Slaar), Sonny Caldinez (Ice Warrior) and Sylvia James (Make-Up Supervisor), with audio clips from an 80s interview with Bernard Bresslaw (Varga, from 'The Ice Warriors').

• Bennion explains how he heard about his role in the show, Caldinez why he was chosen, Bennion his misgivings and Breslaw his happy memories.
• James talks about feeling sorry for the actors in the masks, but Breslaw describes it all as "an adventure".
• Caldinez covers Breslaw's height and humour and Bennion the changes in costume - Caldinez was terrified by his. Bennion reminisces about his first fitting.
• James talks about her input into the masks and how they were made in co-operation with the special effects team, Caldinez talks about making his movement frightening and Bennion worries about tea-breaks and being cued to start.
• Caldinez on lack of hearing and vision, Bennion on the sets and James on the challenges the mask brought her. Bennion agrees, discussing the teeth, but Caldinez remains unphased.
• Bennion and Caldinez move on to talk about the voice and performing deaths.
• Bennion remembers working with Terry Scully and Caldinez remembers Steve Peters. They both then explain why they feel the Ice Warriors were the best creatures in Doctor Who and why this story in particular has endured.
• Caldinez compares the two Doctors he worked with: the second and third.
